A businessman from Valsad has donated 1.10 crore in just one and half month to distribute ration to poor families in 35 villages in the district. Narsulla Khan runs an electric panel manufacturing unit in Vapi GIDC.
He has till date supplied nearly 21,000 kits .
He is a resident of Dungri falia in Vapi. He began distributing the kits from March 27. He has created a team of 70 people which included sarpanch of the 35 villages. Khan procured grocery items from wholesale traders in Valsad, Vapi, Navsari and Surat and the team then assembled the kits.
Every day at 9.00 am Khan sends three trucks loaded with ration kits from his godown to distribute ration kits to the villagers of Valsad.
These kits comprise of 5 kg wheat flour,10 kg rice, 3 kg potato, 3 kg onion, 1 kg oil,2 kg Tuver daal, and 1 kg salt.
“The sarpanch’s and the team have the list of people who need true help. So far they have covered 35 villages and delivered 21,000 kits which is a really big number . “I know what it feels like to sleep empty stomach” said Khan. HE said that he had enough money by God’s grace and so he decided to help the poor in the hard times of lockdown.
“We will continue supplying kits till the lockdown is lifted. The district administrations and even the police of Vapi have our numbers and they call us whenever anybody needs help,” Khan added.
Khan gives kits to whoever is needy and religion has never mattered for him. The government of India has never shown the Bright side of Indian Muslims and has always shown the dark one to create a bad impression of Muslims among Indians.
